Removing alpha from a range of numbers

Postby angelg on Tue Apr 07, 2009 12:40 pm

I have a column of numbers combined with an alpha letter which I need to remove so that I can add the column. The alpha number appeared when I exported a report from Great Plains into Excel with foreign currency amounts. The report generated the amount with the letters A to show the Australian currency amount. Now I need to remove that letter from a range of numbers so I can add up the column. How can I remove the letter from each cell without having to manually re-type each number?

FYI and I know this is way too late but you would click edit: Find: Find and replace and enter the A and replace with nothing ro just enter a space and that would do it. Ihope someone helped you out with this at the time.
May be this can help next time or in the future.
